The journey has begun in earnest this time

My E-type love affair began one summer afternoon on a visit to my cousins to "play" with them. My cousin Pat was one year younger than I was and we always had a special friendship from our very young years sharing our inner most dreams and fears with one another in darkened bedrooms and campout tents. This summer we were 14 years old, and were like any healthy teenage boys, longing for the magic part of our lives to begin - the thrill of dating and exploring romance with girls and dreaming of and fantasizing about fast cars!

Previously to my visit my Uncle and Aunt had moved into their new to them "older" home in our home town of Buffalo, NY. This place was HUGE, with three stories plus attics on a corner lot that included a three car garage with direct side street access. Well at that time they didn't need to store three cars and so a local gentleman, needing a space to store his sports car approached them to rent their third bay. My cousin broke the news to me upon my arrival that they had a Jag in the garage. Of course we couldn't believe our luck to have such a rare gem (especially in Buffalo NY) sitting within our grasp. We were warned to stay away from it by my Aunt Rita, and of course we promptly disappeared into the garage to see and touch this mythical vehicle.....
